Color Identifier from Image
Open an image and click anywhere to identify the color. See the color name, hex code, RGB, and HSL values — plus how the color looks with different types of color blindness.
Your image never leaves your device — all processing happens in your browser.

How the Color Identifier Works
This color identifier tool lets you open any image and click on it to instantly identify the color at that exact pixel. You get the color name, hex code, RGB values, and HSL values — everything you need to use that color in your designs. Your image is processed entirely in your browser and is never sent to a server.
What makes this tool unique is the built-in colorblind simulation. For every color you pick, you can see how it appears to people with protanopia (red-blind), deuteranopia (green-blind), tritanopia (blue-blind), and achromatopsia (complete color blindness). This is invaluable for designers who want to make sure their color choices are accessible to everyone.
Color Name Detection
The tool matches your picked color against a database of over 140 named colors using Euclidean distance in RGB color space. It finds the closest named color so you can quickly describe any color you see — whether it's Coral, Slate Blue, or Dark Golden Rod.
Colorblind Simulation
The colorblind simulation uses the Viénot simulation matrices, which are scientifically established algorithms for modeling how colors appear with different types of color vision deficiency. The simulation works by transforming the selected RGB color through a 3x3 matrix in linearized sRGB space, producing an accurate approximation of how each type of color blindness affects perception.
